What I mean by support me...

Sometimes it's not clear. We want to feel someone supports us, but we don't tell them what that means to us, or they don't know how. It can mean different things to different people. Some people think support means financial support, so asking for it is asking for money. But sometimes we want emotional support, to know that an emotional environment is safe enough to say what we feel without wondering if we are being judged or criticized.

I want my teens to support my teaching water aerobics, my love of water activities, and they do, how do I know? they actually come to my class! yes, they can be silly but they are always respectful and I am proud of them!
I feel supported by my Tina and Tom.

They understand that I love the water and every now and then just want to jump off the diving board or go down the slide! and there they are, even grabbing my camera, when I go just one more time!

They laughed when I said I want to go on the climbing wall since I had to wait in line with some fourth graders. Those fourth graders had lots of advice for me too! Still I couldn't make it past the second level. I also teach at a senior center. Tom and Tina have come to that class and met the seniors and act appropriately in their exchanges with them.
I usually start talking using the words I think... but here I'll say I feel. I FEEL supported, respected and encouraged.
Thank you and I love you Tom and Tina!!
