July 11, 2009 - My church organized a day of country western dance lessons at Gilley's, famous the for movie Urban Cowboy, with John Travolta. Here I am on the bull!
The day of lessons included demonstration, individual practice and couples dancing. Since I wasn't in a couple, I didn't actually dance much. But I did try.
I don't know much about C&W music/dance. It's not my thing but I did my best. Everyone told me Nike are the wrong shoes, but to be honest, boots wouldn't help me. But after a few people told me, I just smiled and thanked them.
We were to select C&W music CDs from a table, here I am looking at the CDs but since I don't know anything about this type of music, well, I just took one and went on, they were all the same to me.
After Gilley's some of us went to another place that had a oldie rock band but no dancing. The band was good and it was nice to sit for a while. here I am with Scott.
Here I am with Jaimi, my Jewish friend from New York. She doesn't go to my church, we met up at the second place I went. She is really fun!
Here's a final photo of me on that bull! Hard to get on it, easy to get off (it throws you off) and sponsored by the local chiropractors of Dallas, ha ha! I did not have any injury but I can see how that could happen.
So, another weekend for me, now it is back to grading papers!
